The Madisonville Miners defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 9-1
(From Madisonville) Game Two: The Miners continued the offensive show of force in Game Two, scoring one in the 1st, three in the 3rd, and four more in the 4th. The Oilers cut the score to 8-1 with a run in the 5th, but the Miners answered with one in the bottom half of the frame to make the lead 9-1. Neither team scored from there, and Madisonville cruised to the 9-1 win in seven innings.
Brooks Benson blasted a three-run home run in the 3rd inning off Oiler starter Jake Wilson, driving in Matt Walsh and Shane Connahan. Benson went 3-for3 with one run score and five RBI in Game Two. Wesley Birchmeier homered as well, going deep in the bottom of the 5th off Oiler reliever Austin Bartle. Eight Miner players scored runs in Game Two.
Miner starter Yancey Pritchett went five complete innings, allowing just one run and scattering four hits. Pritchett walked four and struck out four while earning his first win of the year. Austin Lukachewski pitched two scoreless innings to secure the win for the Miners.
Jake Wilson started in the mound for the Oilers and got the loss. Wilson gave up seven runs on four hits and seven walks. Wilson struck out one Miner batter. Austin Bartle and Josh Wetzel each saw some action on the mound for the Oilers.
Riley Benner picked up an RBI, driving in Will Broady for the lone Oiler run.
