The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 7-5

(From Fulton) The Bombers made the most of 9 hits, which included 3 homeruns and defensive miscues by their opponent, to outscore the Railroaders 7-5 in Fulton. 
     After opening the game in the top of the first inning with two straight strikeouts, Nick Gobert singled to get aboard. Drake McNamara followed with a 2 RBI homer over right-center field to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead. The Railroaders managed to load the bases in the bottom half of the first with one out, but failed to answer with a score.
     Both starting pitchers, Ryan Dills for DC and Eddie Mathis for Fulton, settled down for the next three innings allowing no runs and giving up only one hit per team.
     Top of the fifth, Devyn Newberry led off with a solo homerun to extend the Bombers lead to 3-0. 
     In the bottom half the fifth inning the Railroaders got their led off batter Drew Greenwood aboard on the only game error by the Bombers. Jacob Elliot then made it to first safely on a bunt, followed by a walk for Griffin Neuer to load the bases with no outs. Clay Reece singled for one RBI and Brad Baldwin followed up with a 2 RBI single to tie the game a 3-3.
     The Bombers quickly answered in the sixth with a second homerun from Drake McNamara to start the inning. Two outs later, the Bombers loaded the bases with 2 walks and a Railroaders error but failed to add to their now 4-3 lead. 
     In the top of the seventh the Bombers added 3 more runs from 2 hits and 2 Railroader errors to extend their lead 7-3.
     The bottom of the eighth the Railroaders punched out 3 hits to include a 2 RBI single from Clay Reece, but the rally fell short leaving the tying runs on base. The final 7-5 score was set.
     Drake McNamara with best at the plate for DC going 2-for-4 (2 homers) for 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs. Clay Reece lead Fulton's hitting going 3-for-5 with 3 RBI.
     Ryan Dills gets the win for 6 innings pitched allowing 5 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 3 walks and had 10 strikeouts. Konner Eck pitched for 1 2/3 innings, 4 hits, 2 earned runs, one walk and one strikeout. Zachary Aring picked up a save for 1 1/3 innings with only one hit, no runs and 2 strikeouts.
     Fulton starter Eddie Mathis takes the loss for 6 innings on the mound giving up 6 hits, 4 earned runs, 2 walks and had 8 strikeouts. Logan Parrett pitched for one innings for 2 hits, 3 runs (one earned), one walk and no strikeout. Trey Tigart finished the final 2 innings with only one hit allowed, no runs or walks, and had 4 strikeouts.
