The Madisonville Miners defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 4-2
The Miners (9-9) and Railroaders (12-9) split their doubleheader on Thursday in Madisonville with the Miners taking the first game.
The Miners took a 4-0 lead after four innings of play. Madisonville totaled 6 hits with 3 RBI and played error free in the field. Shane Connahan was best for the Miners at the plate going 2-for-3 with a RBI and score on a solo homerun.
The Railroaders were held scoreless until the final seventh inning. The late rally by the Railroaders fell short after scoring 2 runs and leaving the tying runs on base.
Drew Mullinax took the win for the Miners pitching the full seven innings striking out 4, walking no batters and giving up the 2 earned Railroader runs.
Starter Lee Haeberle takes the loss for Fulton going 5 innings with 4 strikeouts, no walks and tagged for 4 runs (3 earned) and gave up 4 hits. Chandler Amason completed the game with one inning pitched for 2 hits.
