(From Fulton)  The Dubois County Bombers (4-2) used of 3 opponent miscues to produce 4 unearned runs and added one earned run to beat the Railroaders (4-2) at home in Fulton.

     Both teams struggled to score until the top of the 5th inning when the Bombers finally broke broke the ice scoring 2 runs as Alex Ralph (1-for-3) and Ryan Keck (4-for-4) both singled then advanced to score on 2 Railroader errors.

     The 2-0 Bomber led remained in place until the 9th inning as Dubois put up 3 more scores off a third Railroader error and RBI singles from both Ryan Keck and Nick Gobert (1-for-5).

     The Railroaders finally woke up in the bottom half of the 9th. With one out, Carlos Williams reached on a Bomber error and Tyler Hilton doubled to put two men on base. Brad Baldwin followed with a 2 RBI single.  A Clay Reece single put a second runner on base.  Then Kipp Moore (2-for-4) and Kyle Uhrich (4-for -5) both singled for a RBI each to close within a run of the Dubois 5-4 led. The comeback effort finally failed with a strikeout and ground ball force out at second with the bases loaded.

     The Bombers held the Railroaders scoreless through 8 innings with superb pitching. Starter and winner Ryan Dill threw for 5 innings allowing 3 hits and 2 walks and had 7 strikeouts. Reliever Nicholas Scheller pitched for the next 3 innings giving up 3 hits, a walk and struck out 2 batters. Derek Flaugher started the 9th but fell victim to the Railroader rally giving up giving up 4 hits and 4 runs (3 earned) for only a 1/3 inning of work.  Bomber closer Kyle Ward was called in to get the final 2 outs earned a save for the effort.

     Fulton also had a strong pitcher performance from Charlie Hecht who stayed on the mound for 7 innings.  Hecht gave up 4 hits, one walk, had 6 strikeouts but was tagged for 2 unearned runs and takes the loss.  Logan Parret pitched for 1 1/3 innings, 3 hits, 3 runs (one earned), no walks and 3 strikeouts.  Kyle Ward finished the final 2/3 innings with a strikeout and one hit.

     The Bombers working on a 4 game winning streak are tied up with Railroaders in second place in the standings.  Both teams are a half game behind the Oilers (4-1) who beat the Hoppers (1-4).
