(From Dubois County)  The Dubois County Bombers rode an 8-run third inning outburst in rolling to their 3rd consecutive win, downing the league-leading Owensboro Oilers.
     The Bombers sent 12 batters to the plate in the third. Six Bomber hits, four Oiler errors, and a walk fueled the rally that saw every Dubois County batter either score or collect an RBI in the inning. After the first three reached, five consecutive hitters came to the plate with the bases loaded and nobody out. All five at-bats produced a run one way or another.
     Dubois County had jumped to a 2-0 advantage in the first inning. Noah Sadler walked. Jacob Snodgrass followed with a single. Nick Gobert then lined out to the second baseman who threw the ball away trying to double up Snodgrass. Sadler scored. Snodgrass came home later on a Nick Barrientos sacrifice fly. 
     Then came the decisive third inning. The first ten Bomber batters all reached base safely via hit, walk, or error. By the time the dust had cleared, Dubois County had a 10-0 lead. It was never threatened.
     Willy Poe got his first start of the year for the Bombers. Poe had strictly pitched out of the bullpen during the college season for Bellarmine. Nevertheless, Poe tossed five strong innings, holding the previously unbeaten Oilers scoreless on five hits. 
     Owensboro threatened in the fifth, loading the bases before Alfredo Bohorquez ground out to Thomas Rea at second. Poe then turned it over to the bullpen.
     Jay Prior and Hunter Spencer pitched the final four innings, allowing only one run on three hits. Not one Bomber hurler allowed a walk all night.
     Jacob Snodgrass and Devyn Newberry each had two hits for the Bombers. Greg Jones doubled.
     Jake Wilson doubled and scored Owensboro's only run.
     Poe (1-0) gets credit for the win. Oilers starter Andrew Lyles is charged with the loss.
     Owensboro drops to 3-1 and falls to second place in the OVL. They are now a half-game behind the league-leading Railroaders. Dubois County is another half-game back, in third, at 3-2. Owensboro will be home against Hopkinsville tonight, while the Bombers travel to Fulton
