The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 2-0

In 7 innings. (From Fulton)  The Railroaders and Oilers split a doubleheader on Wednesday. The split leaves Owensboro (10-5) where they were at 3.5 games behind idle Hoptown (13-1).  Fulton (6-8) improves, picking up a half game and moving them into 3rd place after a Dubois County (6-9) loss to Madisonville (1-13) who finally broke a 13 game losing streak to win their first game of the season.

     Game One: Single scores in the 2nd and 4th innings were all that was needed for Oilers to take the first game.  RBI singles by Jake Wilson and Taylor Mathews highlighted the offensive action. Both teams had 7 hits each with the Railroaders stranding 8 runners and committing one error, and the Oilers left 6 on base and were error free on defense.

     Owensboro starter Jackson Lockhart gets the win going 5 innings allowing 7 hits, a walk and 2 strikeouts. Jake Wilson picks up a save closing out the final 7th inning.  Fulton starter CJ Lee takes the loss for 6 innings pitched, 2 earned runs, giving up 6 hits, 3 walks and striking out 4 at the plate.
