The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Madisonville Miners, 19-7
(From Fulton) The Railroaders got their first home win of the season in a big way at the expense o the Miners who remain winless. Fulton's 19 runs came with 17 hits and error free defense. Madisonville managed 7 runs with 11 hits and committed 4 errors in the game.
Reed Johnson topped the Railroaders at the plate going 3 of 4 for 7 RBI produced from two homeruns, a grand slam and a 3 RBI shot. Riley Benner was next best for Fulton with 3 of 5 for 3 RBI and on run scored. For the Miners, Adam Schuster was 4 for 5, a RBI and 2 runs scored, with Chase Powers and Rutger Luebke both getting 2 RBI each.
The winning and starting pitcher Clay Chandler completed 5 innings allowing 5 hits, one earned run, one walk and 8 strikeouts. Taking the loss for Madisonville was starter Colton Nussel who threw for 3 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits, 6 earned runs, 4 walks and struck out 2 at the plate. Both team together sent 11 pitchers to the mound during the game.
