The Madisonville Pirates defeated the Dubois County Bombers, 8-1

(From Dubois County) Dubois County Bombers drop their final regular season home game, 8-1 to the Madisonville Tradewater Pirates. The Bombers (21-23) will head to Owensboro to finish the regular season.

     Madisonville took the lead, 1-0 in the 3rd but Dubois County would get a run of their own also in the 3rd. In the 5th, the Pirates crossed the plate two times to gain a, 3-1 advantage and added two runs in the 8th and 9th innings to cap off a, 8-1 victory. The Pirates hit the ball very well, producing fourteen hits in the game. The Bombers were only able to get five hits but three of their hits were extra base hits. Chris Tavares doubled twice in the game, Kyle Schwinghamer also doubled and Jacob Armstrong singled in the only RBI for the Bombers. Casey Ryan was the only other player for the Bombers to record a hit. Three Pirates players finished with three hits apiece, Garrett Emling, Robert Veltre, and Cody White led the Pirates with three hits.

     Tyler Mitchell started for the Bombers, giving up only one earned run in 4 1/3 innings pitched but defensive miscues were a result of three unearned runs for Mitchell. Bryan Page relieved Mitchell, lasting just under 3 innings and giving up two earned runs. Cody Morris finished the game for the Bombers, he gave up two earned runs as well and struck out a batter. For the Pirates, starter Aaron Mason earned the win in limiting the opposition to one run over the first five innings and striking out five. Tyler Thomas threw the final four innings, tossing four shut out innings of relief and striking out two.
