The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Madisonville Pirates, 13-5

(From Fulton) The Railroaders won big over the Pirates taking game three in the second round, and advance to the final Championship round facing off with the Hoppers in Fulton on Saturday.

     The Railroaders blasted out 7 runs in the second inning and never looked back. The Pirates scored 2 in the in the third inning only to see the Railroaders counter in the fourth inning with 3 more runs, which included a lead homerun by Rick Linton. Fulton added a single run in the 5th with a led off homer by Mikee Moore. Tradewater managed a single run in the 6th, and another in the 7th on a batter hit by pitch RBI with the bases loaded. The Railroaders put up their final two  runs in the 8th, followed by the Pirates getting their final score in the 9th off a Logan Crook led off home run. 

     Fulton totaled 16 hits, was error free in the game and stranded 6 runners. Madisonville got 13 hits, had one error and left 13 runners on base.

     For the Railroaders Erik Manning (2 of 3) and Austin Bryant (3 of 5) had two RBI each and scored once. Rob Hogenkamp (2 of 4) has one RBI and crossed the plate 3 times. Logan Crook was best for the Pirates going 4 for 5, two RBI and one run scored.

     Cory Klinger earned the win for Fulton pitching the first 5 innings striking out 7 batters, walking one, giving up 6 hits and two earned runs. Scott Ashley picked up a save going the final 4 innings on the mound. Starter Michael Edward takes the hard loss pitching for only 1 1/3 innings only allowing 4 hits, striking out and walking 3 batters each, but tagged for 7 runs (4 earned). 

     The Pirates post season play ends with a 1-2 record while the Railroaders now move on to take on the Hoppers who eliminated Bobcats on the same night. The best of 3 series starts in Fulton with the first game and the final two and three games, if needed, in Hopkinsville.
