The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Madisonville Pirates, 8-7
(From Fulton) The Railroaders battled back then hang on to beat the Pirates and move 2 games ahead of Madisonville in second place standings.
Tradewater took a 2-0 lead in the second inning using 3 hits including a RBI double by Kyle Neimeier. The Railroaders got on the board with one run in the 3rd when Quinton Alexander led off with a single, stole 2nd and 3rd base then scored off a RBI double by Angelo Burrage, his 33rd on the season. The Pirates gained back the run in the 5th as Buddy Elgin hit a solo home run to take a 3-1 lead. Bottom half of the 5th, the Railroaders busted out with 4 runs that included a walked in run along with Mikee Moore driving in 2 on a single. After reaching 3rd base, Moore proceeded to steal home plate for another score. With a 5-3 lead, the Railroaders continued in the 7th inning chalking up 3 more runs off 2 hits and the only Pirate error on the night.
Trailing the Railroaders 8-3, the Pirates mounted a comeback in the top of the 9th inning. With 5 singles and a costly 2 run Railroader error, Tradewater closed the score to 8-7 with two runners aboard and one out. Fulton called in Jonathon Williams to put out the fire getting a force out on a fielder's choice and striking the final out at the plate, and earned a save.
Fulton's offensive was led by Angelo Burrage 3 for 3 with one RBI and score, Austin Bryant 2 for 5 with 2 RBI, and Mikee Moore 1 of 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. For Tradewater, Michael Roehrig was 4 of 5 with a RBI, Trevor Harrard went 2 of 6 with 2 RBI and one score, and Logan Crook 3 for 4 and two runs scored. In total, the Railroaders had 9 hits and left 14 on base, and the Pirates produced 17 hits and stranded 16 runners.
Starter Tyler Saltsman gets the win from the mound going 6 innings, striking out 6, allowing 8 hits, 4 walks and 3 earned runs. Madisonville's starter Zach Uher takes the loss pitching for 4 2/3 innings being hit 5 times with 5 earned runs allowed, walking 6 batters and striking out one.
