The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 8-5

(From Fulton) Fulton came from behind to beat Owensboro and win their 10th straight game. The victory keeps the Railroaders in pace behind the 1st place Hoppers at 3 games.

     The Railroaders jump to a 1-0 lead in the first inning only to have the Oilers take a 4-1 lead in the second with a Fulton error, 2 walks and 3 singles. Fulton chipped away at the lead scoring one run in each of the 4th and 5th innings, and pushed ahead in the 6th with five more runs off 3 walks, a passed ball, 3 hits including a 2 RBI double by Joe Mike. A second Railroader error and a RBI walk gave the Oilers one more run in the 7th for the final score of 8-5 in favor of Fulton.

     Of the Railroaders' 7 hit total, Joe Mike hit 2 of 3 for his two RBI and Billy O'Connor 1 for 2 with three RBI from a sac fly, single and walk. For the Oilers' 8 hits, Tyler Grogg and Austin Edge each were 2 of 5, one RBI and one run scored. 

     Tyler Saltsman started and won the game pitching for 6 innings with 7 strikeouts, 3 walks, tagged for  7 hits and 4 runs (2 earned).  Daniel Szathmary earned a save finishing off the 9th inning. Oiler starter Jay Hachmiester was pulled after 4 innings giving up only 2 earned runs and middle reliever Austin Pittman took the loss going just 1 1/3 innings giving up 5 hits and 5 earned runs.
