The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Marion Bobcats, 3-0
The Oilers broke their 3 game losing streak in big fashion on Tuesday with a no hit shutout over the Bobcats in Marion. Shane Weedman threw a complete 9 innings striking out 9 and walking 4 to hand the Bobcats their 5th straight loss. Losing pitcher David Roper also threw a good game through 8 innings allowing 6 hit, striking out 9, walking 2 with only 1 earned run of 2 total scored against him. Tyler Grogg was best at the plate going 2 of 5 with a RBI and crossing the plate one time. The Oilers committed only 1 error while the Bobcats were tagged with 3.
The loss moved Marion into 3rd place as Madisonville moved up after beating the Hoppers in Hopkinsville on the same evening. The Oilers get a day off on Wednesday before hosting the Hoppers in Owensboro on Thursday.
