The Pirates struck for three runs in the fifth, and held off the many assaults by the Oilers with good pitching by starter Kooper Kessler, followed by outstanding middle relief from Chris Goins,and a closing performance by Cory Ames, to defeat Owensboro 3-1.  Both teams fended off early disaster with timely defense and classy pitching.  The Buccos finally struck paydirt in the 5th, and won an emotional contest for "Number 7" Reid Rizzo, who passed away Saturday.  A brief tribute preceded the game for Rizzo, who will remain the inspirational leader for all of 2012.
