The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Marion Bobcats, 5-4

In 10 innings.  The Owensboro Oilers rallied into an extra inning win of their Friday night game with the visiting Marion Bobcats. The final score was 5 to 4.  The Bobcats scored first with three runs in the top of the 1st inning. Desmond Roberts led off the game with a walk, and was sacrifice bunted over to second base. Kyle Vander Ark was hit by a pitch. Taylor Banks RBI doubled to plate Roberts -- and move Vander Ark to third base. A fly ball out later, A.J. Dokey RBI singled to score Vander Ark, and send Banks to third base. Dokey stole second base, allowing Banks to swipe home for the inning's third run.  The Oilers answered with one run in the bottom of the 1st inning. With one out, Ty Stetson walked. Wild pitches moved Stetson on to both second and third bases before Ryan Stephens grounded out. Drew Barrett drove Stetson home with an RBI single.  The Bobcats matched that run in the top of the 2nd inning. With one out, Mike Lockett walked. He moved to second base on a wild pitch and third base on a passed ball. Roberts RBI singled Lockett across home for the inning's run.  The Bobcats led 4-1 at that point. Then -- what looked what it might be a blow for blow slugfest throughout the game suddenly went blank until the bottom of the 8th inning. Oilers starter Ethan Robinson, and relievers Allen Haase and Jim Mulvaney, did the job the rest of the way -- keeping Marion from crossing the plate again. Bobcat starter Kyle Tokunaga was steadily effective for 7+ innings.  Owensboro tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the 8th. Stetson led off the home inning with a triple. A strike out later. Barrett scored Stetson on a RBI sacrifice fly. Eric Barnes doubled, and moved to third base on a wild pitch. Ryan Messex RBI singled Barnes in. Ty Broady reached on an error that got Messex to second base safely. Brent Weinzapfel was hit by a pitch, loading the bases. A wild pitch to Gabriel Pena in the next at bat allowed Messex to score the tying run.  The Bobcats got a runner as far as second base and the Oilers as far as third base in the 9th inning. Marion left a runner out at second base in the the top of the 10th inning. Owensboro needed -- and got that one run in the bottom of the 10th inning. Broady walked, and was sacrifice bunted to second base. Pena singled. Luis Mila was intentionally walked  to load the bases. Marion hoped to set up a double play combination any where on the infield. Stetson and Bobcat reliever Josh Anders battled to a 3-2 count before ball four made Stetson's walk to first base the RBI variety for the win.  Mulvaney collected the win as the Oilers pitcher of record in taking the final lead. Anders took the loss for Marion in relief as well.  The Oilers are 22-18 -- still maintaing a 0.5 game lead in the OVL league standings.
