The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 8-4
7 innings. In game # 2 the Railroaders scored one run in the top of the 1st inning, two runs in the top of the 3rd inning and one run in the top of the 5th inning. In the top of the 1st inning Mikee Moore led off with a walk. Brandon Eggenschwiler walked as well. Tyler O'Daniel RBI singled -- then he and Eggenschwiler became tied up about advancing around the bases. The result: they were both recorded out at second base. In the top of the 3rd inning, Moore, Eggenschwiler, and Brock Downey all doubled -- Eggenschwiler collected an RBI for Moore; Downey drove batted in Eggenschwiler. In the top of the 5th inning. Moore walked. Eggenschwiler and Tyler O'Daniel singled back-to-back to load the bases with nobody out. Joe Mike followed with a shallow RBI single to plate Moore, and keep the bases loaded. The run put the Railroaders ahead 4-3 at the time, but it would prove a fateful turn of events -- because the next three Railroaders struck out in order. The Oilers did their scoring in the bottoms of the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings. Owensboro scored once in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Bo Younker started the home inning with a single and scored on a two-out RBI single by Gabriel Pena. the bottom of the 3rd produced two more runs. Luis Mila walked, and came in on a two-out RBI double by Younker. Not to be outdone, Eric Barnes followed with a RBI triple scoring Younker. The Oilers took over the lead with three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Mila singled and was sacrifice bunted over to second base. Drew Barrett singled as Mila moved to third. Younker followed with an RBI single to bring Mila in. The two remaining base runners executed a double steal to move respectively to third and second base. Barnes launched a 2-RBI double to same deep vicinity he'd tripled to earlier. In the bottom of the 6th inning Owensboro added two insurance runs. With one out, Austin Hargrove reached on an error. Mila walked and Ty Stetson singled to load the bases. Drew Barrett followed by perfectly executing a RBI sacrifice squeeze bunt with Hargrove charging home from third. The only play for an out was on Barrett at first. Mila came in on a wild pitch before the inning was over. Owensboro reliever Austin Clay claimed the win for curbing Fulton's bases loaded threat, and being the pitcher of record when the Oilers took the lead. Jim Mulvaney worked two scoreless innings for the save. Fulton reliever Justin Dailey had the loss.
